Load Cell - Strain Gauge

Interfels Strain Gauge Load Cells are ideally suited for measuring loads in rock bolts, cable anchors and tendons, structural beams, piles, loads between tunnel supports and loads in pull-out tests on trial anchors.

The Interfels strain gauge load cell consists of a stainless steel cylindrical housing with up to sixteen resistance strain gauges to minimise the sensitivity to eccentric loading.

When the cell is subjected to load the strain gauges will change their resistance value. The load cell output signal is directly proportional to the applied load.

The cell is temperature compensated and available as a mV/V output or a 4 - 20mA output. A heavy gauge multi-core, PVC sheathed cable connects to the load cell, which can be connected directly to a read-out unit or via a switched terminal unit. Alternatively load cells can be wired direct to dataloggers.

All cells are manufactured with a centre hole to accommodate rockbolts, tendons or anchor cables. For use as a solid centre cell the instrument can be supplied with top and bottom load plates.

datasheet
  • Accurate, robust and very good long term stability
  • Fast response time
  • Negligible temperature effects compared with hydraulic load cells
  • Suitable for measurement, remote reading and data-logging
  • Connecting cable is strong, screened and flexible
  • Not susceptible to partial collapse which can be experienced with leakage from hydraulic load cells
